June Meeting Minutes

 Vandergrift Sportsmen’s Association, Inc.                                                                   June 13, 2023

The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 7:00 PM, presided over by President Jim Waltenbaugh There were 18 members present. The meeting opened with the “Pledge of Allegiance.” The minutes from the May meeting were passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Francis Gray, Sr, and seconded by Jim Wigle. The motion was passed by voice vote. The treasure’s report was passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as read was made by Frank Gray and seconded by Terry Huth . The motion passed by voice vote.

BUILDINGS

GROUNDS  

Larry Laurenti and Geff Spiering sprayed the ranges and parking lots on May 31,2023.

Larry also reported there has been several complaints on the grass cutting.

RANGE

Jim Wigle, Larry Gamble, Jim Waltenbaugh, Richard Catchpole, and Butch Schreckengost –

Jim Waltenbaugh stated that a new target was replaced at the 200 yard range.

ARCHERY

Larry Laurenti 

Larry is still looking for help on the archery range.

TRAP

Steve Milcic  gave the report on the trap range. There was an opening balance of $xxxxx. They shot ___ lines. Income was $xxxxx. Expenses were xxxxx. That leaves an ending balance of xxxxx.

Steve also stated that he will complete the inside of the trap club house tomorrow.

FIVE – STAND REPORT

Jim Troiano reported a balance of $xxxxx. Expenses $ 0.00. 87 lines were shot . The income was $xxxxx  Leaving an ending balance of $xxxxx.  Jim is looking for help to run the five-stand range.

YOUTH DAY

Frank Gray 

Frank stated that there is a problem with getting the Youth Day application on the website, They are working on the problem and he has put some forms at the club house for people to use. He is also going to put a copy of the application on his facebook page.

NEW BUSINESS

Larry Laurenti stated he has a donation letter ready to send out for youth day.

Larry Laurenti stated the hunter education class had 13 in attendance. They all passed with a average score of 90%. He also wanted to thank everyone for their help.

Larry Laurenti stated the club received a thank you letter from the NRA for the clubs donation.

A motion was made by Butch Schreckengost to open the five stand range for the Latrobe High School Trap and Skeet Team. The motion was seconded by Jim Wigle. The motion passed by voice vote.

RAFFLE

The  raffle was won by Larry Laurenti .  He donated his $xxxxx winnings to club’s general fund.

Jim Wigle won two pens.                                                                                                              

PAY BILLS

A motion to pay the bills was made by Frank Gray and seconded by Francis Gray, Sr. The motion passed by voice vote.

ADJOURNIMENT

A motion for adjournment was made by Steve Milcic and seconded by Frank Gray. The motion passed by voice vote.
