January Meeting Minutes

Vandergrift Sportsmen’s Association, Inc.
January 13, 2026

The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday January 13, 2026, at 7:00pm. Presided over by President Tom
Becker. There were 27 members present. Meeting opened with the “Pledge of Allegiance.” The minutes
from the December meeting were passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the minutes
as read was made by Joe Ferguson and seconded by R.J. Huth. The motion was passed by voice vote. The
treasures report from December was passed to all members present. A motion to accept the treasurer’s
reports was by Frank Gray and seconded by Roy Duff. The motion passed by voice vote.

OLD BUSINESS:
There was no old business discussed.


COMMITTEE REPORTS:


BUILDINGS: Neil Jankosky
Neil: OSB board in garage is finished, we are getting pricing on insulation for the ceiling and heating
system. A fire extinguisher was installed.


GROUNDS: Bob Matteo & Ron Henry
Bob: Grass does not need cut yet.


RANGE: Bruce Bartrug
Bruce: Roof was removed from the 50yd. target due to wind damage. 200yd. target was stood back up,
needs to be anchored better due to the wind.


ARCHERY: Larry Laurenti
Larry: Range is still being used.


TRAP: Steve Milicic
Steve: 18 lines shot for $90.00, and a Balance of $2128.00.
Steet Light to be replaced by West Penn Power Co. is now working.


FIVE-STAND: Roy Duff
The 5-Stand is now closed for the season and will open in April.


YOUTH DAY: Frank Gray
Frank: Youth Day work will start in February.

NRA: Ron Henry
Ron: Has not heard back from the NRA about the grant.


MEMBERSHIP: Debbie Becker
Debbie: We have approx. 660 members at this time. 41 new members have done their orientation.


NEW BUSINESS


Larry Laurenti asked members for ideas for projects for 2026.
Tom Becker stated that we are getting one table at the Friends of the NRA dinner, we have 7 members
attending as of now. If anyone is interested in going please contact Tom.
Bob Matteo will be going to the sports show and mentioned that we need new targets for Youth Day. He
can get them for between $1000.00 and $1200.00. A motion was made by Ron Henry and 2 nd . by Adam
Karelitz to not spend more than $1400.00. It passed by voice vote.


RAFFLE
Roy Duff won $32.00


PAY BILLS
A motion to pay the bills from November was made by Roy Duff and seconded by Frank Gray. The
motion passed by voice vote.


ADJOURNMENT
A motion for adjournment was made by Bruce Bartrug and seconded by Jim Waltenbaugh. The motion
was passed by voice vote.
