Vandergrift Sportsmen’s Association Inc.

October 10, 2017

The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, October 2017, at 7:00 PM, presided over by President Jim Waltenbaugh. There were 22 members present. The meeting opened with the “Pledge of Allegiance”. The minutes from the September meeting were passed out to all members present.  A motion to accept the minutes as written was made by Larry Gamble and seconded by Fran Gray. The motion was passed by a voice vote. The treasurer’s report was passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as written was made by Francis Gray, SR and seconded by Harry Frick. The motion was passed by a voice vote.

 OLD BUSINESS

1.The Kiski Valley Baseball and Softball Association will use the clubs name to sponsor a gun bash on January 27, 2018.

2.The Archery range has reduced the archery targets by four stations.

3.The parking enlargement has been tabled.

  1. The photo album of the 2017 Youth Day is available for members viewing.
  2. The second reading of the new by-laws was done at September monthly meeting.
  3. Larry Laurenti is getting bids for asphalting ranges.
  4. The club has been looking for a cleaning service.

Buildings
The Crack on clubhouse corner has been sealed.                                                                                                                                         

Grounds

No Report

Range   

The 550-yard  targets on pistol and rifle range need to be changed.    

Archery

Larry Laurenti stated the ranged is in good shape.

Trap

Steve Milcic reported – 89 lines shot, bringing in $356.00.

Expenses  $4,548.00   

That leaves trap with an ending balance of $2,428.00.

Steve Milcic reported someone has been shooting target setting on the ground.

5-Stand Report

Jim Troiano  reported 112 lines shot bring in $560.00

Expenses  – cases of rabbits  $100.00

That leaves 5 stand ending balance of $1259.27.

Ways and Means

John Lawrence stated an ending balance $585.38.

Youth Day

Frank Gray stated the Elk Foundation grant for 2018 Youth Day is filled out and ready to send in.

NRA

MEMBERSHIP

Jim Lewis stated he has received 150 renewal applications  

NEW BUSINESS   

A motion to keep the same officers in place was made by Larry Gamble and seconded by Bob Matteo. The motion passed by voice vote.

A motion to keep the board of directors was made by Harry Frick and seconded by Frank Gray

The motion passed by voice vote.

A motion to get the combat and pistol ranges asphalted was made by Frank Gray and seconded by Butch Schrengost. The motion passed by voice vote.

A motion to let  shooter at five stand have a second round free on October 18 and 25, 2017 was made by Jim Troiano and seconded by Daryl Rowe. The motion passed by voice vote.

The Clubs sight  day will be held on November 12,19, and 26 2017.

M&M tree service will be cutting trimming trees on the ranges with in the next seven to ten days.   

50/50 RAFFLE 

The 50/50 Raffle was won by Francis Gray sr.. He won $11.00 donated to Youth Day.

A turkey call box won by Geff Spiering.

Pens were won by Dennis Cribbs.

A list of outstanding bills was presented. A motion to pay the bills was made by Frances Gray Sr. and seconded by Frank Gray. The motion was passed by a voice vote.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion for adjournment was made by Jim Wigle and seconded by Steve Milcic. The motion was passed by a voice vote.
