Vandergrift Sportsmen’s Association Inc.

The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, September, 12, 2017, at 7:00 PM, presided over by President Jim Waltenbaugh. There were 22 members present. The meeting opened with the “Pledge of Allegiance”. The minutes from the August meeting were passed out to all members present.  A motion to accept the minutes as written was made by Larry Gamble and seconded by Dennis Cribbs. The motion was passed by a voice vote. The treasurer’s report was passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as written was made by Francis Gray Sr. and seconded by Frank Gray The motion was passed by a voice vote.

 OLD BUSINESS

The purchase of 22’s and 50cal.flintlock rifles are on hold until we how the application for firearms is approved by the NRA.

The Parking lot enlargement is on hold for further discussion.       

 The reading of the updated  by-laws .

Brian McCollim updated the members on status of the club web site and informed the members that we now have a active Facebook page.

Bob Matteo was given permission to trap on club grounds for a period of five years.

Archery

Larry Laurenti stated work on the large archery target is completed .  

Trap

Trap Range report 141 lines shot, bringing in $564.00.

Expenses  4,548.00   

That leaves trap with an ending balance of $2,072.00.

5-Stand Report

Jim Troiano  reported 191 line shoot bring in $955.00

Expenses   cases of rabbits—and trap repair labor)  $628.80

Turned in $3,000.00 to the treasurer

That leaves 5 stand ending balance of $799.27.

Ways and Means

John Lawrence stated ending balance $575.38.

Youth Day

Frank Gray stated the cost of youth day was$9899.49. He would like thank all volunteers for there help. Also stated the Pa game commission was thankful for the way all items were cleaned and returned.

MEMBERSHIP

The Club has 700 renewal adult members. There are 50 on a waiting list.

NEW BUSINESS   

A motion to let Kiski Valley Baseball and Softball Association use club name to sponsor a gun bash that will be held on January 27, 2018  was made by Larry Laurenti and seconded by Larry Gamble.The motion passed by voice vote.

A motion to reduce the archery targets by four stations   was made by Greg Spiering and seconded by Larry Gamble. The motion passed by voice vote.

A motion to table parking lot enlargement  was made by Frank Gray and seconded by Don Kaufman. The motion passed by voice vote.

A motion to keep the same offices in place was made by Bob Matteo and seconded by Jim Lewis. The motion passed by voice vote.

A motion to keep the board of directors was made by Larry Gamble and seconded by Jim Wigle. The motion passed by voice vote.  

The second reading of the new bi laws was done on September 12, 2017.

Larry Laurenti will be looking in to getting asphalt work done on ranges .

The Club is looking for a cleaning service.

50/50 RAFFLE 

The 50/50 Raffle was won by Bob Reihms. He won $12.00 donated to Youth Day.

A turkey call box won by Larry Laurenti

A pen was won by Jim Wigle  and Sdan Barber.

A list of outstanding bills was presented. A motion to pay the bills was made by Larry Ganble and seconded by Frank Gray. The motion was passed by a voice vote.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion for adjournment was made by Francis Gray Sr. and seconded by Rich Catchpole The motion was passed by a voice vote.
