Vandergrift Sportsmen’s Association Inc.  

 July 11, 2017

 

The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 7:00 PM, presided over by Vice President Frank Gray. There were 25 members present. The meeting opened with the “Pledge of Allegiance”. The minutes from the June meeting were passed out to all members present. A correction was made correcting the ending balance for 5 stand to $2,043.00.  A motion to accept the minutes as amended was made by Larry Gamble and seconded by Steve Milcic The motion was passed by a voice vote. The treasurer’s report was passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as written was made by Jim Wigle and seconded by Daryl Rowe. The motion was passed by a voice vote.

 OLD BUSINESS

The Chestnut trees are being planted on club grounds.

The exhaust fan over the kitchen stove has not been installed yet.

The updated bylaws are still being worked on.

Hunter Education Class had 18 youth in attendance. All passed.

Washington Township Police used our range on June 15, 2017, for qualifying purposes.

Buildings
The crack in the corner of the club house will be repaired by Tony Leonzio when the weather gets warmer.

Grounds

No Report

Range   

The back stops on the  ranges will  be changed when the weather is nicer.    

Archery

Larry Laurenti has rebuilt the large archery target and is waiting for new hay bails.

Trap

Trap Range reported 121 lines shot, bringing in $484.00.

There were $27.00 expenses.   

That leaves trap with an ending balance of $5,590.00.

5-Stand Report

Jim Troiano  reported 156 lines shot ,bringing in $780.00.

That leaves 5 Stand with an ending balance of $2,823.20.

Ways and Means

John Lawrence stated the Ways and Means has and ending balance $545.38.

Youth Day

Frank Gray stated everything is on target for Youth Day, and that 38 youth have already signed up.

Don Kaufman will take care of transportation on Youth Day .

MEMBERSHIP

The Club has full membership.

NEW BUSINESS   

A motion to purchase six 20 gauge youth shot guns and two 410 youth shot guns,  was made by Daryl Rowe and seconded by Larry Gamble  The motion passed by voice vote.

Larry Laurenti has a collection of old American Rifleman magazines that can be signed out to club members interested in reading them.

Jim Troiano stated that there will be a 5 Stand Shoot, July 28, 2017.

50/50 RAFFLE 

The 50/50 Raffle was won by Brian McCollim. He won $14.00 and donated it to Youth Day.

A pen was won by Brian McCollim.

A fan was won by Jim Lewis.

A list of outstanding bills was presented. A motion to pay the bills was made by Larry Gamble and seconded by Francis Gray, Sr. The motion was passed by a voice vote.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion for adjournment was made by Ron Stoops and seconded by Steve Milcic. The motion was passed by a voice vote.
