Vandergrift Sportsmen’s Association Inc.

The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at 7:00 PM, presided over by President Jim Waltonbaugh. There were 21 members present. The meeting opened with the “Pledge of Allegiance”. The minutes from the January meeting were passed out to all members present.  A motion to accept the minutes as written was made by Frank Gray and seconded by Larry Gamble. The motion was passed by a voice vote. The treasurer’s report was passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as written was made by Larry Gamble and seconded by Jim Wigle. The motion was passed by a voice vote.

 OLD BUSINESS

Breakfast will be held at the clubhouse every other Wednesday, January at  9:00. Estimated cost per person is $3.00.  members only.      

A new computer has been purchased by Jim Waltonbaugh for the president use.        

The Club had purchased a table for ten at the NRA banquet.                                                                                                                          

The range committee is still looking into purchasing a gun safe for the clubhouse.

Buildings
The crack in the corner of the clubhouse will be repaired by Tony Leonzio when the weather gets warmer. Steve Milcic would like to up the tarp clubhouse,

Grounds

No Report

Range   

The backstop on pistol will need changed.    

Archery

The posts are installed for the archery target rebuild. When the weather gets better the work on target will be completed.

Trap

Steve Milcic reported 96 lines shot, bringing in $384.00.

That leaves trap with an ending balance of $4,176.00.

Steve Milcic stated that the trap house needs some maintenance.

5-Stand Report

Jim Troiano  reported 5-stand balance of $1,370.04

5- stand will reopen April 5, 2017

Ways and Means

John Lawrence stated that there is a Ways and Means balance of $611.41.

NEW BUSINESS   

A motion to donate $50.00 to Murrysville ambulance services was made by Bob Matteo and seconded by Jim Wigle The motion passed by voice vote.

The Club gave a $75.00 gift certificate to Donna McGennis for her donations to the club.

A motion to accept new members was made Frank Gray and seconded by Larry Gamble. The llist of new members included: Peter J. Valente The motion passed by voice vote.

Steve Milcic brought up that the trap clubhouse needs some improvements he will have to talk to Washington Township to see if ti will be aloud and if a permit it needed.

The trap houses needs some repairs and serviced.

The club is looking for a new account to prepare our taxes.

The club is looking for some to help with our website.

The club is getting our bylaw  book updated and new books printed.    

MEMBERSHIP

The Club has 700 renewal adult members and 21 junior members. There are 12 on a waiting list

The 50/50 Raffle was won by Bob Matteo. He won $10.00 and donated it to NRA- ILT.

A gun lock was won by Jim Troiano, Fran Gray, Russ Brammell, Joe Weaver., Daryl Rowe.

A list of outstanding bills was presented. A motion to pay the bills was made by Bryan Jankosky and seconded by Jim Troiano. The motion was passed by a voice vote.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion for adjournment was made by Jim Wigle and seconded by Butch Schrecengost. The motion was passed by a voice vote.
