February 13, 2024The monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 7:00 PM, presided over by President Jim Waltenbaugh There were 28 members present. The meeting opened with the “Pledge of Allegiance.” The minutes from the January meeting were passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Terry Huth and seconded by Francis Gray. The motion was passed by voice vote. The treasure’s report was passed out to all members present. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as read was made by Frank Gray and seconded by Rich Catchpole. The motion passed by voice vote.

Frank Gray stated all Youth Day supplies have been inventoried and he will be contacting the NRA.
NRA
Jim Lewis stated that the NRA banquet on February 3rd, 2024 was a success.
MEMBERSHIP.
Jim Lewis stated as of tonight the membership will be full.
Jim Lewis resigned as membership officer February 13, 2024.
A motion to accept Jim Lewis’s resignation was made by Bob Matteo and seconded by Rich Catchpole. The motion passed by voice vote.
NEW BUSINESS
A motion to have Debbie Becker take over as the membership officer was made by Jim Lewis and seconded by Butch Schreckengost. The motion passed by voice vote.
Bob Matteo stated that the ranges will be closed for the swat team to use on March, 14, 2024, from 2pm to 9pm, on May, 9 2024, from 9am to 5pm, June, 27,2024, from 9am to 5pm and September, 12, 2024, from 9am to 5pm.
Larry Laurenti stated that there is a problem with the club’s website and it is being worked on to get it back on line.
Francis Gray gave an update on the dust to dawn light.
RAFFLE
The raffle was won by Bryan Jankosky. He won xxxxx He donated it to the Youth Day.

OLD BUSINESS
Francis Gray gave an update on getting the clubs dusk to dawn light replaced. Francis has sent a registered letter to the Utility Commission and now has a case number.
Neil Jankosky gave a update on Mail Chimp and is trying to get a discount for the club because we are a nonprofit organization.
Neil has also applied for a demolition permit for the old club house.

Jim Waltenbaugh reported that the rifle range shooting shelter needs checked. He suspects that there may be leak over the fourth shooting bench.

YOUTH DAY
Frank Gray stated that Youth Day will be on the first Saturday of August 2024.
NRA
Jim Lewis stated that the NRA will have its annual fund raiser February 3rd, 2024.
MEMBERSHIP.
Jim Lewis has received 610 renewals so far.
A motion to accept seventy-three new members was made by Jim Lewis and seconded by Jeff Pope. The motion passed by voice vote.
Jim has presented seventy-three new members to be installed into the club after their orientation on January 14, 2024.
Jim turned over xxxxx, to the treasurer, from dues collection.
NEW BUSINESS
Jill Cooper, a newly elected representative from the Pa House, gave a talk on some of things that she does for the districts that she represents.
A motion to get a table at the NRA fund raising dinner was made by Larry Laurenti and seconded by Frank Gray. The motion passed by voice vote.

There was a shotgun shoot for the kiski area kids around July.Larry Laurenti spread and raked the gravel in the parking lot.A storm blew the metal arm off the gate 7-13-23 and Larry was able to fix it because it’s a breakaway arm.The youth day went very well with 40 young shooters having fun with their parents or guardian.The club is in need of new target archery bales for the primary archery range and the woods range. If anyone knows where to find those please let Larry Laurenti know at 412-477-7887 or any officer. The old supplier is in no longer business.There was an officers meeting Aug. 22, 2023 and 10-3-23.A new flagpole was installed by Larry Laurenti, Bob Mateo, Gerald, Migliorisi and Ed Schwab – supervisor.Joe Ferguson started the duct work at the club to solve the noise problem 10-24-23. The excellent work is completed for free!The shoot in days open to the public was well received run by Frank Gray and a whole bunch of help and fun and the food was great too especially Jim Lewis’s great chili. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Larry Laurenti stated he is going to send a thank you letter to Ferguson heating company for fixing the cold air return in the club house.
Frank Gray gave a final report on sight in days. There were 15 members and 25 non menber’s that came to the range. Frank also stated that they collected $111.00. The expenses for the three days were $124.50 leaving the club with a $13.50 cost.
Frank also wanted to thank everyone who helped and all the members that donated food for the sight in days.

Jim stated that the NRA has resumed the Youth Summit Program. It will be held in Harrisburg, PA. The top two shooters will go to Washington DC. The applications can be found on the NRA website.

Larry Laurenti stated that AT&T was doing an upgrade to the cell tower.
Ron Henry got some targets donated to the club from are new legislator.
A motion to have our new legislator come to the club meeting to answer questions was made by Rich Catchpole and seconded by Francis Gray. The motion passed by voice vote.
Francis Gray will send a letter to the Utility Commission Bureau of Consumer Services trying to get West Penn Power to upgrade the club’s street light.
